Robot cell development for 3D-printers

The goal of the project “MMO-3D” is to strengthen R&D in focus areas in engineering and industry through cross-border cooperation of relevant participants Carinthia University of Applied Sciences Degree Programs Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Engineering & Management, project partner Oprema Ravne (Slovenia, lead partner), Holzkompetenzzentrum W3C (wood competence center), University of Ljubljana, Institute for Robotics (Slovenia) and Roboteh (Slovenia).

The core innovation in the project is the adaption of a 6-axes robot which utilizes injection molding technology and a fiber manipulator.  These technologies make it possible to manufacture geometrically complex products with high strength light weight material for applications in e-mobility and medical engineering.

 Thus, the project contributes to the promotion of cross-border cooperation to strengthen research and technological development, competiveness and innovation.  In the long-term all participating project partners from academia and industry will profit through the mutual transfer of knowledge and the technological transfer from the areas of mechanical engineering and robotic engineering.
