A team of four International Business Management (IBM) master´s students participated in the Austrian National Finals of the Project Management Championship 2021 and proved their project management skills by reaching a top 3 position.

As a first step, Alina Bikteeva (Russia), Verena Fink (Austria), Katarina Hunorova (Slovakia) and Anna Lototska (Ukraine) qualified for the Austrian National Finals. They were among the five best teams in Austria who successfully overcame the first challenge: answering 100 theoretical questions about project management in 100 minutes.

At the National Finals, the international team could prove their hands-on approach and practical knowledge while working on an evaluation scenario study for Microsoft. Their task was to implement a new communication tool within a multinational company. After 2.5 hours of applying different project management tools (work breakdown structure, organizational chart, risk analysis, financial plan, …), the IBM master´s students presented their results in front of three renowned project management experts.

By reaching the podium at the Austrian National Finals, the team of IBM master´s students proved not only their project management skills, but also their ability to effectively work in intercultural virtual teams.
