A project to implement the on-line laboratory platform VISIR for institutes of higher education (IHEs) in Brazil and Argentina is just about to be implemented. VISIR was started in February 2016, and the technical installation will be carried out via remote consultation at the Pontifical Catholic University (PCU) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the beginning of July.

Danilo Garbi Zutin and Christian Kreiter, staff members at the Carinthia Univ. of Applied Sciences (CUAS), have been working for weeks at full tempo to ensure the successful implementation of the on-line lab platform - they are being supported by a Master of Science student Alexandra Nitoiu. This platform will be utilized in succession for lectures and then for the testing of remote labs.  The colleagues at the PCU in Rio are already using the platform in Villach remotely online as shown in the video and are very grateful for this type of support. Both the CUAS and the PCI-Rio are taking the lead roles in this project.

On-line platform VISIR

VISIR is an on-line platform for a remote lab, which is being used in a variety of fields in electronics, acoustics and most recently in teaching power drives. The platform has been in use at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences since 2011. At the end of August, lab trainings will be provided on site in Rio at the next planned project meeting.
