Anita Kloss-Brandstätter, professor at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, runs her own YouTube channel and arouses interest in mathematics with her tutorials.

Anita Kloss-Brandstätter is Professor of Mathematics at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and teaches Engineering Mathematics and Statistics in several courses of study. Since universities and universities of applied sciences had to switch their teaching to distance learning for the most part due to the Corona crisis, she has been striving to offer her students the best possible substitute for classroom teaching.

To this end, the passionate mathematician has created a YouTube channel, which she regularly fills with video tutorials on a wide variety of mathematical topics. The mathematical examples presented are not only taken from higher mathematics, but start with elementary basics such as set theory, equations and inequalities. The video tutorials also include examples from high school graduation material such as differential and integral calculus.

The video tutorials are designed in such a way that the tasks are pre-calculated on a sheet of paper. Students can therefore also prepare a sheet of paper, follow the calculation step by step, listen to the explanations and do the calculations at the same time. Those who prefer a more comfortable way can also follow the calculation examples on their cell phones.

"The first feedback from my students was very positive," says Anita Kloss-Brandstätter, pleased with the immediate success of her efforts. In the future, she will continue to explain mathematics in an easily understandable way on the Internet.
