Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) is the only Austrian higher education institution among the Top 50 of the international U-Multirank study, which was published for the first time in 2014.

The master programs of the CUAS School of Management scored exceptionally well in particular in the areas of graduation on time and international orientation, in both of which it reached the top group.

The ranking is led by one German (WHU School of Management) and two US-American universities (American University of Florida and Dartmouth College). Besides Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, also IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences reached a place among the top 100. The business master programs of four more Austrian universities (Vienna University of Economics and and Business, University of Vienna, University of Linz, Modul Private University Vienna) were ranked among the top 200 of the 412 universities included in the ranking.

U-Multirank is an initative of the European Union with the aim to create an internationally comparable multi-dimensional ranking of institutions of higher education which is also considering teaching and learning, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional engagement in addition to research (which is the main focus of many other rankings). U-Multirank is prepared by an international consortium led by the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) in the Netherlands and the Centre For Higher Education (CHE) in Germany.
