In addition to informative workshops and presentations detailing the degree programs, focus will be placed on current topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT), part-time and work-friendly study programs as well as exciting R&D projects.
The Dept. of Engineering & IT offers seven bachelor and eight master degree programs. Certain programs are organized as part-time studies and some can be expanded by advanced training programs. Classic engineering and IT studies such as Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management are paired with specialized disciplines, e.g., Medial Engineering and Geoinformation to offer a broad spectrum of career opportunities and the start of successful career.
Dive into the world of technology
During the CUAS/FH Day of Engineering & IT, there will be in addition to informative technical workshops and presentations guided tours through the modern Eng&IT laboratories. Visitors can expect a comprehensive overview of the Smart Labs and other labs whereas the presentations and workshops will provide insight into topics such as electro-mobility and sport telematics. Research projects, for example, crash tests or the rescue robots R.UD.I. and R.A.U.D.I., etc., will also be demonstrated. The entire program is rounded off through conversations with students and faculty, an individual ‘infopoint’ for studying part-time as well as an exhibition of the best R&D projects.
Teaching and Research on 1600 m2
The Science & Energy Labs on the CUAS-Campus Villach is one of the largest research centers in southern Austria. The joint research and development projects between industrial partners and a higher education institute provide a vital economic factor not only for the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences but also for the partner industrial firms. The return flow of results from these applied research and development projects combined with developments in the teaching guarantees that the design of Eng&IT curricula match the requirements of the industry.
Youth are the Future Days 2016 hosted on the CUAS-Campus Villach
The “Youth are the Future Days” event is an important instrument to bring future topics to young people as well as to raise their awareness to the new and exciting challenges that await them in their future work environments and careers. Because of current societal developments ranging from the refugee crisis, insecurity in the economic system up to high rates of unemployment, two modules highly relating to current factors will be offered in the frame of the CUAS/FH Day of Engineering & IT. The first module “ZAG – the democratic simulation game” will be on June 23 and focuses on actively shaping the future and comprehending democracy with a special focus on direct democracy. On June 24 the second module “Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Employment” will focus on the constantly changing world of employment. The “Youth are the Future Days” event is organized by Martin Maitz in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Carinthia’s Youth Office.
