Modern vehicles are already networked in various ways. In the near future, vehicles will communicate and interact directly with each other and with the infrastructure; this is referred to as "Cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS)". However, not only cooperation and networking, but also automation will increase significantly. The three areas will not develop separately, but will merge to form "Cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM).
However, the implementation poses technological and economic challenges. As part of the 79th Digital Dialog, the various communication technologies (C-ITS G5, 5G, SatCom) will now be examined on the one hand, and on the other, they will also be classified with regard to the transport infrastructure segments (highway, city, rural road). And of course, not only the infrastructure, but also the vehicle with its communication technologies (V2X) plays an essential role. Especially also with regard to the price pressure that prevails for additional modules in the vehicle.
We are looking forward to the discussion on an enormously exciting and highly topical subject!
