Intelligent materials, so-called 'smart materials', as well as 3D printing techniques, are becoming increasingly important and are playing an ever-greater role in the development of new, versatile and efficient products.

In March 2021, a new certified course will start at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences with a focus on “Smart Materials and 3D printing techniques”.
The course is organized and run by the newly founded research centre CiSMAT - Carinthia Institute for Smart Materials and Manufacturing Technologies.

Pascal Nicolay, head of the certificate course: “The goal of the new Certificate Course on „Smart Materials“ is to teach innovators and R&D employees to use the whole set of new, emerging materials and associated production techniques, to solve new problems in innovative ways. The whole course (100H, under the supervision of experts from the industry and from the academia) is designed to help you think out-of-the-box, and acquire the basic knowledge you need to implement your future creative and innovative ideas.”

More detailed information about the course, registration, and about CiSMAT itself can be found here.
