The course should enable students to deal with urban planning and urban design tasks, particularly as part of a complex project in architectural design: Theoretical topics and practical examples of urban planning and urban design in terms of the historical development of cities, their morphology, environment and the current situation of present towns.

Lectures on urban planning and development of the city. Further, the students do some literature research and project work.

The final assessment is made by the instructor of the course on the basis of the submission of the project work, the research work, the final presentation, and the written test. Evaluation criteria: Active participation in the course (discussions, presentations, project development, literature research) and the written test.
