Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

summarize academic texts appropriately.
write a micro-paper meeting current academic standards.
understand how to cite following the citation guidelines of the School of Management and refer to relevant research in their writing.
develop reading strategies.
expand their knowledge of the lexis of academic texts and transfer this knowledge to their writing.
lead a discussion, share and express opinion, incorporating supporting arguments on topics of interest and relevant to their field of study.

Specific language instruction, such as vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing skills will be provided based on specific needs of students.

Academic English I: Academic Presentation

Writing an academic paper (purpose, structure, citation guidelines, style and language, paraphrasing);
Exploring the question of what is (good) management within the context of students' field of specialization;
Leading and participating in international meetings;
Expanding grammar and vocabulary in context.
