Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

explain the relationship between strategic planning, operational planning and budgeting.
understand the main sub-plans by function (including sales plan, production plan, procurement plan), cross-functional sub-plans (including financial and investment plans) and explain how they are interconnected.
describe key instruments of operational planning (including standard costing, variance analysis), different budget types, the methodology of budgeting, the relation to liquidity and liquidity targets.
review budgetary control measures and their effects.
