By the end of this course students should have:
pro-actively acquired the necessary knowledge base to understand the business environment in Central Eastern Europe and South East Europe
gained understanding of the dynamics and interplay of various factors in the region, ranging from socio-cultural and political to economic
developed a genuine interest in the region, from both a business and socio-cultural perspective.
CEE/SEE Business Environment is an interactive course focusing on the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the region of Central Eastern and South East Europe. Students are expected to actively participate in discussions and exchange views and knowledge throughout the course. The region, for the purposes of this course, is concerned with the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. Knowledge of the dynamics and interplay of various factors in the region, ranging from socio-cultural and political to economic, is considered crucial in understanding the current business climate in the area.

A mixed method of instruction will be used for this course, including lectures, discussion, case studies, and presentations and self-study and group work. The course also includes an excursion to one or several countries in CEE/SEE.
