Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
develop necessary skills to understand complex, real economic developments - especially related to international business and finance - and interpret them by means of applying theoretical know-how.
Fundamentals of Economics I - Microeconomics
Fundamentals of Economics II - Macroeconomics
Current and far-reaching economic developments and problems are selected and interpreted, discussed and analyzed with reference to the theories of microeconomics and macroeconomics. Special emphasis is placed on topics from international business and finance. However, students are not only taught how to analyze individual developments, but are moreover given the tools and techniques (e.g. the study of institutional economics and economic evaluation tools) necessary to discuss and assess economic phenomena in general.
Literature will be provided by the lecturer.
