Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
understand the differences between various types of contracts.
explain the rights and duties of the contracting partners.
review the legal consequences in case of non-fulfillment like damages, suspension of burden of proof etc.
Introduction to Private Law
The lecture focuses on the various types of contracts which are regulated by the Austrian civil code. Furthermore, modern types of contracts, such as franchising and leasing, are discussed. There will be an introduction to labour law, especially to the rights and duties of employer and employee.
