Students are able to understand the basics of neuroscience and biophysiology

The course surveys the organization and function of the human nervous system. Material at the cutting edge of neurosciences presented, in a way that is accessible to both science and non-science students alike.

The human nervous system is examined at several different scales, ranging from the molecules that determine the functional properties of neurons to the large systems in the brain that underlie cognition and behavior.

The material is divided into four parts:

    • Foundations;
    • Sensory and Motor Systems;
    • The Brain and Behavior;
    • The Changing Brain.
