Upon successful completion of the course, students:

  • Can present and analyse current trends using specialist vocabulary, focusing on the ability to compare and contrast
  • Can understand main ideas of news reports and topics of personal or professional interest
  • Have developed listening and reading stragtegies for identifying specific information
  • Can write an essay and report giving reasons in support of or against a particular viewpoint
  • Have developed stratagies for dealing with misunderstandings in business communication
  • Can express themselves grammatically accurately and coherently using appropriate register and context specific vocabulary

  • Analysing, presenting, predicting and comparing current trends
  • Preparing and presenting graphs based on current trends
  • Dealing with Complaints
  • Writing with a purpose within an academic and business context
  • Listening to and reading news reports
