On successful completion of this course students will:
understand the role and responsibilities of a manager
improve their self-management competences
familiarize themselves with different leadership styles and theories as well as possibilities to influence people
develop strategies for developing other people, positively influencing their performance and dealing with interpersonal problem situations and conflicts
get an integrated perspective on the connection of strategic management, operations management and people management
improve their decision-making skills

In this introductory course, students get accustomed with the responsibilities of a manager and the specific tasks and challenges that this role entails.
