The example of the international economic integration in Austria and with special attention to local and regional economic impacts of globalization are basic foreign economic theories (such as Ricardian model, the Heckscher-Ohlin model, Krugman model) and terms (such as balance of payments, exchange rate, comparative costs, free trade and international public goods) explained. In addition, relevant instruments of foreign economic policies (such as tariffs, subsidies, quotas) and institutions (eg IMF, World Bank and OECD) will be discussed.
