On successful completion of this course the student will:

experience intercultural teamwork in practice;
improve their strategic analysis and presentation skills;
be able to perform in a team situation under time pressure;
get experience in consulting work.

Course on "International Project Management" must be completed either before this course or in parallel.

In this course, student teams are working on internationalization projects for companies. The first part of the project consists of a detailed analysis of the target market with an emphasis of the environmental factors that have the highest influence on the specific industry.

This is followed by an analysis of the competitive strengths and weaknesses as well as core competences of the company and the development and evaluation of strategic alternatives for the company´s internationalization challenge.

The student teams will also create a detailed action plan and budget for implementing the chosen internationalization strategy. The results of the project work will be presented to company representatives in the form of a presentation and a project report. The teams will work independently on the project. Lecturers will offer scheduled coaching sessions, in which the teams can get feedback on their progress.

The course includes a taught introductory part designed to give an overview of effective teamwork as a preparation for working on the intercultural team projects.
