By the means of a special BIM system for Civil Engineering the students are enabled to develop virtual building models focused on structural information for visualisation of structural details, evaluation and simulation as well as collaboration with other fields involved in building structure. Furthermore the course graduates are familiar with advanced BIM technologies to optimise the design process.

Introducing Building Information Modeling for Structural Engineering using suitable BIM system for Civil Engineering:

Creating and editing advanced virtual building models for structural information

Developing user defined three dimensional parametric so called "intelligent" building elements, e.g. special walls, beams, pillars and so on

Defining structural detail definitions and deriving Engineering plans

Executing structural evaluations and simulations

Connecting BIM with other software applications of design process
