The students have basic knowledge and skills in digital data processing needed for visualization and solving of general engineering tasks. Those acquired skills can be applied by implementing engineering use cases in Excel worksheets.

Digital data processing and visualisation using MS Excel und Visio:
Theoretical basics:Input-Processing-Output (+Storage) Model (knowing as IPO+S)Data types and the different ways to process, visualise and storage them First steps into algorithm and their visualisation
Practising by MS Excel:Document management on the basis of meta dataSpreadsheet processingData input, analyse and visualisationArithmetical data operationsUsage of Built-In-FunctionsText data processingTime data operationsLogical operations: comparing/combining and their application in algorithm (conditions)Development of extensive Excel worksheets to automate data processing
Practising by MS Visio:Creation of technical sketches respectively figuresVisualization of algorithm and process via flowcharts
