Students know different data collection methods and are able to collect data independently. They have a thorough theoretical knowledge of at least one data collection method and are able to apply this knowledge. They are able to reflect on the data collection process by considering the relevant scientific criteria and making use of their theoretical knowledge. They are able to communicate it and discuss it critically with regard to the further steps of the research process.

Module: Learning through Research 1

Data collection methods will mainly be taught in context. The research projects chosen by the students will determine the actual content of the seminar. There can be up to four research groups that can work in the following fields:
Deciding on data collection method
Planning and preparing data collections
Carrying out data collections
Critical reflection on data collection process
Planning and communicating further steps of research process
