The students gain advanced knowledge in the treatment and resolution of problems from the heat and mass transport. They get to know typical modeling problems and the ways to solve this. The students will gain practical experience in the implementation of FEM analyzes with examples from the areas of mass and heat transport.

Fourier law of heat conduction, heat equation, Peclet equation for different geometries, unsteady heat transfer, radiation, thermal fluid dynamics, laminar and turbulent flow, Navier-Stokes equation, mass transfer, diffusion equations (1st & 2nd Fick's Eq), discussion of analytical and numerical solutions.
Discretization: finite differences, finite elements application examples and practical exercises
