The object of Finite Element course is to introduce students to the basics of finite element analysis and simple simulations using ANSYS. Students carry out their works primarily using ANSYS Workbench with minor pre-processing / post processing in Excel and MATLAB.
At the end of this course, the student should be able to independently and individually prepare a simulation setup, run the simulations, analyze the results and report it.

-Introduction of finite element modeling, historical background, state of the art techniques, industrial applications, future visions, selected topics in the area on finite element modeling, business aspects of the simulations
- Understanding of Meshing, theoretical description of 1D, 2D Elements
- Introduction on ANSYS Workbench, Basics of CAD
- Static Structural models, Static/Transient Thermal
implicit time integration, Modal and vibration analysis
- Advanced techniques, Introduction on APDL
- Evaluation and validation of results, Comparison with literature
- Visualization techniques, basics of Project reporting and methods of presenting results
