By the end of this course the students should:
understand the importance of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in an international business context
explain the different types of M&A transactions
critically analyze the strategic rationale and value proposition of M&A deals
structure the process of M&A transactions
assess the advantages and disadvantages of asset deals and share deals
understand the due diligence process
critically assess risks in M&A processes

"Integrated Financial Management" course

The course will provide an overview of the different types of M&A transactions and their relative advantages and disadvantages, the strategic background for M&A deals and the structure of the M&A process. Specifically, topics covered in the course include:

The role of M&A in international business
Strategic evaluation of M&A deals (from both the buyer and the seller perspective)
The economics and value creation of M&A
Types of M&A deals and their specifics
The structure of the M&A process
Key features of a due diligence
Valuation for M&A
M&A case studies
