Students get to know the most important methods und elements of
modern fluid dynamic technologies and theoretical bases and that seen in applied tools with the consolidation to the modern view of biomimetics technolgies.
Knowledge of physic dynamics;
knowledge of differential equation, Limits and Derivatives, integrals, vector, matrix
Physical characteristics of fluids (molecular/ macroscopic characteristics, molecular transport, continuum hypotheses), kinematics of the fluid element (Euler/Lagrange, time derivation, streamlines, flow lines, and coating lines), basic equations in flow mechanics (continuity, impulse, energy), hydro statics and aero statics, similarity theory, integral forms of the basic equations, fluid element theory (Bernoulli equation), laminar layer flows (Couette flows, conduit flows, duct flows, film flows), flows of smaller Reynolds Numbers (subtle flows), flows of larger Reynolds Numbers (boundary layer theory), instable flows (classification of instabilities, transitional boundary layer flows), turbulence (statistics, spectrums, lengths, time scales, basic equations averaged over time, models), convection flows, micro flows and nano flows
- The main goal of the course are:
*To cover the basic principles of fluid-dynamics;
*To present examples to give tudents a feel for how fluid-dynamics; is applied in science /engineering practice;
*To develop an intuitive understanding of fluid-dynamics; by emphasizing the physics and physical arguments;
*To help students develop the necessary skills to bridge the gap between knowledge and the confidence to properly apply knowledge in the investigations for Biomimetic & E-mobility.

The course will be held based in slides presentations combined with explanation on the board.
The presentations will be available in the Bionics folder (I - Laufwerk Info BA Bionik Fluid_dynamics_(Figueira) ) and it is advised to print them previously in order to follow the lectures and to add extra comments.
