A thesis is a final paper which concludes the academic education at the School of Management. The final paper should demonstrate the student's ability to independently develop and structure a complex management-related research question, following academic standards and formal CUAS requirements within the given period. In addition to the formal aspects of assessment, the thesis also serves the student's personal development by means of: § disciplined and focused action § objective and critical subject analysis § acquisition of in-depth specialised knowledge § qualified selection of contents as well as critical use of literature § problem and aim definition, choice of methodology, systematic formulation and presentation of the thesis § correct and persuasive argumentation of content and methodology decisions

The strong focus on a practice relevant education at the School of Management should also be evident in the thesis. Consequently, the thesis should ideally be practice-oriented and incorporate cooperation with public administrations, the private sector or industry. This serves the mutual exchange of knowledge and, in addition, promotes the social relevance of research work compiled at the School of Management.
