Research
Project based learning, and applied science are the cornerstones of the education at the School of Geoinformation. Beginning at the early stages of our programs, students work closely together on projects with external partners from industry.
The highlight of the program is the internship in which students can earn their first spurs in various fields of expertise at local intuitions and abroad.

Application of GIS in the daily work of an avalanche warning center
After some winters involving low snow heights and the omnipresent threat of climate change, winter 2008/09 fulfilled its claim for cold season. Beneath positive effects on tourism, the high amount of snow leads to massive problems, involving several large avalanche incidents. more

The BMWF programme ‘Sparkling Science’ is an Austrian national fund that promotes projects in which schoolchildren are actively involved in the research process.
