Research

The research and development activities of the study program “Systems Engineering” concentrate on “Embedded Systems”, i.e. electronic systems that are integrated into (embedded in) systems which can be controlled or monitored. These systems consist of a combination of hardware (microcontrollers, signal processors, ASIC, …) and software (program control and communication control). and often contain interfaces to their environment, which fulfill the tasks/functions of sensors and actuators. Embedded systems constitute an integral part of communications devices, vehicles, medical technology, and machinery and industrial plants.

A further point of focus is the design of “Remote Laboratories” for e-learning or blended-learning course material. These projects should help to increase the amount of e-learning applied in technical lectures in the future.
