Industrial Networks

The development of modern IT components, e.g., RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), as well as the introduction of Ethernet/TCP/IP in the process automatisation are two important milestones in the field of industrial automation engineering. Web-capable field devices are continuously being improved and can be controlled and regulated over the world’s most used network protocol (TCP/IP).

Areas of application for this area of emphasis are best illustrated through the example of Embedded Web Applications:

Highly integrated, miniaturized web servers with a high degree of functionality are connected to each other via standard networks such as the Internet or an Intranet. These web servers connected with web-enabled field devices than offer a variety of new application possibilities in the industrial automation engineering.
