Bachelor Mechanical Engineering
Every machine, tool and installation - whether automobile or gas liquefaction facility, mobile phone or spacecraft - all go through development, construction, manufacturing, distribution and operation. The demands in each of these areas have become increasingly complex. The basic knowledge as well as modern methods required for the undertaking of these processes are dealt with in the studies of "mechanical engineering". The main focus lies on development and implementation of mechanical / electromechanical machines and installations, taking into account economical aspects.
In the first and second semester, the students acquire the fundamentals of mathematics, informatics, mechanics, technical physics, electrical engineering and control engineering. The third and fourth semester focus on building a core knowledge of mechanical engineering around the areas of machines and installations, control engineering, simulation, technical physics, conveyor technology and numerical methods.
In the fifth semester, the core knowledge acquired in the previous semesters is strengthened within the scope of a project work. In the sixth semester, the students apply their obtained knowledge in a practical training in industry. The academic degree Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc) is awarded after 6 semesters with the submission of a Bachelor’s thesis and a final examination.
What is Mechanicl Engineering?
Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines. It is concerned with understanding, function, development, construction, manufacturing and operations of machinary and installations as well as its components; with the construction of vehicle for land or water, in air and in space, with the finishing technique, the conveying engineering, many further specializations as well as with the associated engineer-scientific bases.
Requirements
