GeoSpatial Education

GeoSpatial Education is an initiative of the degree program Geoinformation and Environmental Technologies with the aim of expanding the active cooperation between schools and universities using geographic information technologies on a broad scale.

Geoinformation Technologies such as virtual globes, Web GIS, digital spatial data and GPS with the wide variety of applications offer great opportunities for an interdisciplinary use in education across all ages and application fields. Based on our long experience of working with schools we have now developed a specific workshop service, which can be booked by interested teachers with a preparation time of at least 30 days. Please note that the workshops are taught in German.

Furthermore, teachers will have the opportunity:

  • to rent state of the art GPS devices for school Projects
  • to obtain individual consultation and service regarding the integration of GeoSpatial content,
  • to collaborate in respect to the development of research proposals (e.g. Sparkling Science) etc.
