Job & Career
Based on the term scientific, technical and practical foundation of the bachelor education, the goal of the master’s program is to train the best qualified civil engineer, who is able to undertake leadership responsibilities in the various sectors of the building and construction industry throughout Europe.
Graduates are well qualified to fill management positions as project or construction managers of major civil engineering projects in the private sphere or within public authorities. Some set themselves up as independent professional consultants. Civil engineers from the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) also have the possibility of a more academic or scientific career through pursuing a doctorate at a technical university at home or abroad.
Project Management Specialisation
The emphasis of the Project Management specialisation is the development of management qualifications for the construction industry. Besides the core subjects comprising technical knowledge and the development of social competence, courses in law, economics and construction operations are included.
Design and Construction Specialisation
This specialisation comprises both a focus on design and modelling as well as on the calculation and planned realisation of structures in construction and infrastructure engineering. The inclusion of design in the education forms the foundation for the involvement of the engineer (structural planner) in the construction design process.
