Job & Career

This educational concept focuses on the permanently growing complexity of the fields of architecture, object development, design and execution planning. It emphasizes the value of a holistic view and a practical performance delivery in following fields:

  • Responsibility in design and competitions
  • Object development and project development
  • Project management in the fields of design and execution planning
  • Building supervision and construction management
  • Building industry administration and management for developers, planning or executive authorities
  • Leading positions in planning offices, principal planners, execution companies and public authorities
  • Access to research and development

In comparison to existing courses at other universities the compact architectural study at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Spittal focuses on the following points:
The overall approach to architectural design and execution planning has as its fundamental goal the inclusion of engineering and economic practical competences into the architectural education. This practice within the study creates synergetic effects for the job-related execution. Through the engagement of the internal teachers and the involvement of high qualified lectors from the private sector it is possible to achieve hands-on project work. The collateral education at the field of building management and object development prepares the students as well as possible for the acquisition and implementation of complex planning and building processes.

Additionally the students learn about foreign-language, social and communicative competences. Their academic ability gets certified through the final master thesis.
