Scholarships for international Students

For detailed information on scholarships we suggest studying the scholarship database of the Austrian Agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research (OeAD), where lists and tips for various possibilities on how to receive financial support while studying in Austria are given: www.grants.at

On the OeAD webside you will find detailed information (including deadlines and application forms) on all the scholarships mentioned below and even more.

Exchange students
(enrolled at the university in their home country and visiting CUAS for one or two semesters)

Erasmus nominated international exchange students receive a monthly Erasmus mobility allowance from their home country.

Marshall Plan Scholarship
Students from technical studies coming from USA willing to conduct research at CUAS can take part in the Marshall Plan Scholarship. CUAS has introduced two deadlines for the scholarship 1. April and 1 November. By that time you should have contacted CUAS International Office and send them your application form. The final decision about the grants is made in May and December each year.

Ernst Mach Scholarship
Another scholarship you might want to apply for is called Ernst Mach Scholarship. It is a semester or one-year grant and applies to exchange students mainly from non European countries. The scholarship is open for students who are studying a master program at a university in one of the above-mentioned countries, or who have successfully completed at least 4 semesters of studies within a diploma program at a university in one of the above-mentioned countries at the time of taking up the grant.

Students Grants program
The Student Grants program is a non-profit initiative funded by CasaSwap.com (a free worldwide student accommodation service). Students can apply for scholarships regularly.

 Regular students
(planing to follow the whole CUAS degree program)

Infineon Technologies is awarding a scholarship for the international master degree program "Integrated Systems and Circuits Design" – ISCD at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, campus Villach (Austria). The scholarship is awarded to a graduate who is a citizen of a European country to stimulate the student’s access to the semiconductor industry. The scholarship is 800.– EUR per month, paid during 5 months per semester (for a total of 15 months). In the final 4th semester the student is directly employed by Infineon Austria, where she/he will complete the master’s thesis.

It might be useful to look for support from international companies as well. Some of them offer student support for the time of study. One of the scholarships from the OeAD -One World Scholarship might be an interesting option for students from third world countries.

Furthermore, the "Österreichischer Integrationsfond (ÖIF) allots twice a year the Liese Prokop Scholarship to refugess and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection studying at an Austrian university or university of applied sciences. The ÖIF is responsible for counselling, filing the application, and support.
