Bodies of the Private Foundation

1. The board of governors:
The board of governors has three members who are responsible for managing and representing the private foundation. The board has to ensure that the foundation fulfils its purpose, namely organizing and running Carinthia Universitiy of Applied Sciences (CUAS) degree programs.

The Executive Director on the board manages the daily business of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in consultation with the other two members and is in overall supervisor of all employees.

2. The Supervisory Board:
The Supervisory Board has ten members who are responsible for overseeing the management and conduct of business of the private foundation. They approve the annual accounts and budget of the private foundation, appoint the members of the foundation's Board of Governors and provide their consent to certain measures, such as planning and developing new CUAS degree programs or investments which exceed a certain limit.


3. The founders:
The private foundation has 15 founders who are members of the assembly of founders. One of the responsibilities of the assembly is to pass resolutions on changes to the foundation charter.

4. Board of trustees and advisory board:
The Board of Trustees ist the Advisory Board to CUAS. Its main task is to promote universities of applied sciences in Carinthia, particularly in the development and evaluation of degree programs and in building up research activities.

In early 1996, the association founded the limited company "Fachhochschule Technikum Kaernten ForschungsGmbH" to provide services in the fields of further education, research and development. As of 5 April 2002, the private foundation owns 99.8% of the share capital while the association retained a share of 0.2%.
