Born 1965 in Nürnberg / Germany. 

1971 - 1981 Elementary and secondary school
1981 - 1985 Apprenticeship as telecommunication technician with succeeding  occupation at Telefonbau & Normalzeit (then Telenorma)
1985  - 1988 Second-chance education at the "Nürnberg Kolleg" with the degree of the "Allgemeinen Hochschulreife"
   
1988 - 1993 Electrotechnic studies at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen/Nürnberg
1993 - 2001 Siemens/Medical in Erlangen and Forchheim: R & D in the field of X-ray systems and digital X-ray imagers.
1996 - 1999: Graduation and PD with "Beschreibung und Optimierung von digitalen Festkörper-Matrix-Detektoren für Anwendungen in der Medizin" (-> "Description and Optimization of Digital Flat-Panel X-ray Imagers for Medical Applications")
